The Sea Marconi laboratory developed a revolutionary analytical technique called IFED (Integrated Fingerprinting & Elemental Diagnostic). Thanks to the fingerprinting of the heteroatoms, IFED characterizes with absolute precision the materials, their criticalities and their degradation factors.

Through the IFED technique, Sea Marconi has identified the DBDS (dibenzyldisulfide) as the main responsable of faults caused by the corrosive sulphur in oil filled transformers.
